Dalia For Diabetics & Weight Watchers

Gaining weight, fighting high blood pressure with high cholesterol and  blood glucose levels…

These and many such health issues usually need medications. However it is recommended to do certain dietary modifications along with medicines to help you in the long run.

Here’s offering a healthy, delicious, and mouth-watering  dalia recipe – an apt low calorie nutritious meal that one can eat fully to his or her capacity without worrying about those dreaded calories!

Healthy Snacking!

Ingredients – for delicious & nutritious Dalia

Dalia1/2 cup Dalia mix ( a mixture of  roasted whole wheat broken, broken rice, white til, broken green moong dal and ajwian -  can be available in the market as a pack as well)

a pinch of hing (asafoetida)
1 tsp jeera (cumin seeds)
1/2 tsp haldi (turmeric)
1/2 tsp jeera powder (cumin powder)
1/2 tsp dhaniya powder (corriander powder)
1/4 tsp red chilly powder
salt to taste
1 tbsp oil
2 tomatoes chopped
1/2 cup chopped corriander
3 cups water

Method – for preparing Dalia Mix
Soak dalia mix for about 30mins

Method – for cooking delicious & nutritious  Dalia
Heat the oil in a kadhai
Add a pinch of hing and jeera seeds
Add all the spices (turmeric,cumin powder,corriander powder and chilly powder)
Add the tomatoes
Add some chopped corriander leaving some for garnishing
Add salt to taste
Meanwhile drain the water from soaked dalia mix
When the tomatoes are cooked add water and bring to boil
Now add the drained dalia mix and cook on sim flame for 20mins with a closed lid
Keep stirring the dalia to avoid sticking to the vessel
If needed more water can be added
Lastly add chopped corriander for garnishing.
